Participation in the ISO 15189 Medical Laboratories - Knowledge Sharing Program

An awareness program to support medical laboratories in complying with the international standard ISO 15189 was held on 28 January 2025 in a hybrid format. The event featured opening speeches from Dr. Phyu Phyu Win, Director General of the Department of Research and Innovation, and Dr. Aye Aye San, President of the Myanmar Private Hospitals’ Association.

The program included insightful presentations by key experts in the field, including U Tin Tun, Registered Biosafety Professional, Singapore; Dr. Nitar Khine, Laboratory In-Charge at Victoria Hospital; Daw Lei Lei Win, Deputy Director of the Myanmar Accreditation Body; and Daw Su Hlaing Tint, Consultant at Future Lab Consultancy Service.

The event attracted over 130 participants, including professionals from both government and members from Myanmar Private Hospitals’ Association, as well as clinical laboratories, who gathered to share knowledge and enhance their understanding of ISO 15189 standards.

We aim to fulfill our professional developments such as: our laboratory services can breast with the international standards and skills, the results can be more accurate and the hospitals can be more reliable for our population by attending such program.
